What Do You Desire?
Continuing to keep things simple, desire can be considered as something that promises you satisfaction when you have achieved it.Think about that for a minute.
Remember all the things that you thought you desired, but when you actually got them, you were disappointed because they didn't satisfy you as much as you thought they would?
Maybe it was that latest clothing item that everyone was wearing and you just had to have.
Or it could have been that fancy gizmo that was so widely advertised as a must-have.

We have all had the experience of really desiring some new item or experience ...only to be disappointed with it when we received it.
On the other hand, think of things for which we had a burning desire and how much they satisfied us when we actually achieved them.
It could have been an academic achievement, a meaningful relationship, a rewarding career, or something more tangible like a home or a car.
We are more likely to be satisfied when what we have achieved offers us elements that we value.
If for example, I value quality and I achieve a result that reflects quality, it is likely that the result will satisfy me.
On the other hand, we are more likely to be dissatisfied by results that reflect little or any of what we value. Valuing quality as I do, I am likely to be dissatisfied by results that offer little if any quality.
It follows that to be satisfied by the results that we achieve, these results must reflect what we value.
