Regardless of whether or not we recognize them, personal core values are among the most important factors in how we live our lives.Unfortunately, most people are unaware of what they value...and how these values influence the decisions that they make and the actions they take.
As we develop as individuals, we are influenced by the values of those around us.
This influence starts with our family...then expands to include to friends, playmates and classmates.
When we start to work full time, most of quickly lean that the past of least resistance is to accept...or at the very least not openly challenge...the values of our employer and key people in the organization.
Most workplace conflicts result from a clash between the personal core values of individual employees and the values of those around them...from co-workers and colleagues to supervisors and top management.
When you make the decision to 'work for yourself' or 'be your own boss', your personal core vales become critical factors in your ultimate success.
Trying to meet the values of other people...such as former employers and colleagues...will not necessarily lead to your own success.
Before trying to figure out what we must do in order to become successful, we must first define what success means to us as individuals.
